Conversion From Resident to Active Status
Once a resident or fellow reaches attending status and has been granted Active CNS membership or Active/Active Provisional AANS membership, they are eligible for conversion from "Resident" to "Active" membership in the Pediatric Section.

It was recently brought to our attention that a clear method for conversion from Resident status to Active status needed to be communicated. A new drop down menu choice has been set up in the Membership area of the section's Web site that reads: AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery – Status Change

Selecting "Status Change" as described above essentially constitutes a formal request for the status change, and additional application materials are not required. The status change request will be forwarded to the Membership Committee, submitted to ShortCuts, and voted on by the membership, in the same fashion as any new member application.

Mark R. Proctor, MD, is chair of the Membership Committee of the AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery.
