From the Secretary

Alan R. Cohen, MD

The AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery has a full fall schedule.

The 2008 Annual Meeting will be held in Spokane, Wash., from Dec. 2 to Dec. 5 at the historic 5-star Davenport Hotel, 10 South Post St. The Davenport opened in 1914 and underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation 10 years ago. Annual Meeting Chair David Gruber, MD, has been laying the groundwork for what looks to be a stimulating scientific session and a delightful time in the Pacific Northwest. You can register for the meeting online at our new Web site, pedsneurosurgery.org.

This year's Raimondi lecturer will be Renee R. Jenkins, MD, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Raimondi lecture will be given on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m.

John Jane Sr., MD, PhD, FRCS(C), FACS, residency program director at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, has been selected as this year's Matson lecturer. The Matson lecture will be delivered at the 2009 AANS Annual Meeting in San Diego on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5. The reception to honor Dr. Jane will be at 6 p.m. following the lecture.

I hope to see you in Spokane.

Alan R. Cohen, MD, alan.cohen@uhhs.com , is secretary of the AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery.
