Beginning Dec. 1 in historic Boston Mass., the AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery will hold its annual winter meeting. If you have not yet made your arrangements to join us, it is not too late—do it now! Our local host, Lili Goumnerova, MD, has helped to arrange a wonderful meeting. An abbreviated meeting schedule is included in this issue of the newsletter to entice you to join us.
The Membership Committee has worked hard to simplify the process of joining our section, and their efforts have been quite successful in adding to our membership roll. The latest group of candidates for membership is included in this issue.

The Pediatric Section is quite proud of the work done by our members participating in SONS, the Section on Neurological Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Mark Dias, MD, has provided an overview of this work in this issue. The SONS again will be sponsoring a special lecture during the winter meeting.
Lastly, Section Chair Tina Duhaime, MD, has outlined goals for the Pediatric Section that will guide us in the coming years. As our section has evolved and matured, our goals also have evolved. Dr. Duhaime has outlined a worthy path for our group.
On behalf of the Pediatric Section’s Executive Committee, I look forward to welcoming all of you to our annual meeting in Boston.
Bruce A. Kaufman, MD, is secretary of the AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery and editor of Pediatric ShortCuts.
